This website has been put together in the memory of the late John Loughrey.
Latterly it was Johns hope and wish that you would be able to share and enjoy his most heartfelt musical work ever
He wrote and recorded this song towards the end of his life when he knew his time was limited. Such was his devotion to Our Lady, that he was inspired to produce this tribute song to her.
John found much strength and comfort with his Faith all his life but particularly in his latter years when he was truly at peace with himself and ‘Dear God and his blessed Mother’ – which he so very often said.
He wrote and recorded this song towards the end of 2004 and released it in December 2004. He financed the recording himself and has pledged absolutely all profits to the three charities closest to his heart:
Christie's Against Cancer Appeal
John was a patient at the The World Renowned Christie Hospital in Withington, Manchester from March 2000 until his passing in April 2005. He underwent several cutting-edge, successful chemotherapy treatments which gave him more time with his family. He was able to record and sing more music and spend precious time with his dear wife Mary. We owe the Christie Hospital so much.
John supported the following 2 charities as he thought they both did great work helping make the lives better for the poor and needy, at home and around the world
A Catholic agency for overseas development. Cafod works to end poverty and make a just world
Uk based charity, setup to aid the relief of poverty and sickness and to bring spiritual and or material solace to the sick or individuals/families who are in need.
